Employee vs. Independent Contractor
We offer generous pay and a full benefit package to our employees. We also offer both full-time and part-time employment options for designated positions. Our independent contractors are paid at a generous per-billable-hour rate and are offered greater flexibility in their work hours. An independent contractor may provide services as either a mental health paraprofessional or a therapist for Families, Inc.
Job Benefits
Families, Inc. offers an innovative benefits package to employees who work 30 hours per week or greater. Our comprehensive benefit package is set up as a cafeteria plan to allow employees to select the plan and coverage type that best meets their needs. Independent Contractors are not eligible for group benefits based on IRS guidelines. For this reason, contractors are paid at a generous per billable hour rate and may participate in the following plans.
Families, Inc. participates in the National Health Service Corps. This means two very important things. First, clients who are seeking services but do not have the ability to pay for services can apply for our Sliding Fee Scale to access services. Sliding Fee Scale Applications are available at each approved site. Discounted/Sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income pending application approval. No one will be denied access to services based on inability to pay. Second, professionals who are able to practice independently (APRN, LCSW, LPC and MD) can apply through the NHSC website to have their student loans repaid in exchange for working at a number of our clinics or schools that we serve. Visit the locations page, of the clinic in which you may be interested in working, to learn more about the approved sites.
